Data Delivery Engineer

As a Data Delivery Engineer, you will play an essential role within our data delivery team, responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate delivery of data to our clients. Your role involves developing and optimising data management processes, handling diverse data formats, and proactively structuring and cleaning data for effective client delivery. Collaborating closely with team members and stakeholders, you will help meet the evolving data needs of our clients while continuously enhancing data delivery processes.

Reporting to: Data Delivery Lead

Skills Experience:
Bachelor's, Master's, PHD, Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating with others to achieve project outcomes
Strong programming skills in languages such as SQL, Python, DBT , JavaScript, Nodejs + typescript
Strong experience with MicroSoft Office VScode, DataGrip, Snowflakes, Retool
Experience with data warehousing, data modelling, and ETL processes.
Familiarity with big data technologies 
Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Proactive Collaboration and Guidance:
Actively collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand data delivery requirements and project objectives.
Seek guidance and feedback from team leads, but also proactively propose solutions and approaches to ensure smooth data delivery processes.

Data Delivery Pipeline Management:
Manage and optimise data delivery pipelines to ensure timely and accurate data delivery to end-users.
Work with data sources, transformation tools, and scheduling mechanisms to orchestrate data flows efficiently.

Data Validation and Quality Assurance:
Implement data validation checks and quality assurance processes to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of delivered data.
Identify and resolve data anomalies and issues without waiting for explicit instructions, maintaining data quality standards.

Data Visualization and Reporting:
Create and maintain data visualisations, dashboards, and reports tailored to the needs of data consumers.
Actively seek feedback from stakeholders and take initiative to enhance the clarity and relevance of data presentations.

Tool Proficiency:
Develop expertise in data delivery tools and technologies, ensuring proficiency in their usage.
Collaborate with team leads to make informed decisions about tool selection and take proactive steps to optimise tool usage.

Process Optimization
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements within data delivery pipelines.
Actively engage in discussions with team members and suggest enhancements to increase efficiency.

Technical Competence
Gain a deep understanding of the organisation's data infrastructure and data sources.
Collaborate with data architects and other technical stakeholders to ensure data delivery aligns with long-term data strategies.

Remote Work Collaboration
If working remotely, maintain strong communication and collaboration with team members to address data delivery requirements effectively.
Take the initiative to drive progress and problem-solving efforts, ensuring the seamless delivery of data.

Data Ethics and Privacy
Adhere to data ethics and privacy regulations in data delivery processes.
Actively identify compliance issues and propose solutions to ensure responsible data handling.
